While the PE7700 projector had much trouble with premature lamp failure initially, BenQ did eventually get the issue resolved with a firmware update which apparently changed the fan speed. Despite the issues, the projector had superior picture and user interface/remote to any thing else in the same price range at the time of it's original release.
